This Project started out with an accident free and complete rust-free 1979 Porsche 911 SC which Axles, Drivetrain and Interior was used for a different 911 SC.
All Parts, Engine and Transmission were removed, and a bare 911 SC Tub was left over. The Cassis was in such a good Shape that I couldn’t cut it down for parts, it is completely straight with no Bodywork ever and no rust spots at all.
So I decided to built it up from the ground. With a 1973 factory 2.4 911S Engine stored on one of my shelfs I decided to go backdate, and make my own little RS Hotrod with an original 2.4 S Engine, to have the feeling and the Sound of a manually fuel injected Car.
The Chassis was completely stripped down to a bare tup with no Screw or Wiring Harness left. It was transported to Media Blasting to get all undercoating and paint removed. Once done it went to Perfect Lines for the Paint. Alex Raygoza, Owner of Perfect Lines was working in the early Years for John Esposito. He started his own business some 6 years ago and is now running a very reputable restoration Shop here in North Hollywood.
The Chassis was converted there to the F-Model Look and completely cleaned down to the bare Metal, the AC was deleted and the front Fire wall was closed, but I decided to go with a sunroof and distinguish from everybody else and then resprayed in Porsche RS Orange with Glasurit paint. The Metalwork was done with no Bondo and all welding lines were tinned.
After around a year later, the Chassis was done and transported back to my Warehouse. In the meantime, I had everything that needed to be replaced acquired, all Axles and all Sheet Metal Powder-coated, all Screws and Mechanics replated.
The factory wiring harness was inspected, cleaned and reinstalled. A brand new factory Porsche 1972 Dash was mounted. Both, Front and rear Axle bolted on with new Bearings installed. Pedal Cluster was restored to Factory new Condition. Yellow Koni Shocks were installed all around with upgraded Torsion bars to give it a handling that would work on the Street as well as on the Track. Vented Disc Brakes were installed and Porsche 944 Turbo Calipers in front and in the rear. The Brake Booster was reinstalled and due to the missing Vacuum Port on the engine it was connected to a Porsche Cayenne Vacuum Pump. A Wevo Shifter and an Alcantara Momo Prototype were installed. The 2.4 S Engine was taken apart to the block, and all seals were replaced, all hardware was replated and engine Tin was Powder-coated. The factory MFI Pump was rebuilt by Diesel World here in LA, the only authorized Bosch Service Center in LA with the Equipment and knowledge to restore the Pump to Factory Conditions. The Transmission was cleaned, and everything was put back in. A Factory Porsche S Fuel-pump was installed in the rear left Section of the car, where it belongs and a factory Fuel Filter Console was acquired and installed to have everything authentic.
The HKZ was rebuilt by Ashlock Tec to new Condition and a Stainless Steel Heat exchanger System and Muffler was installed. The original Tank was sent out for cleaning and was sealed inside. The old undercoating was removed and replaced with the period correct 3M Rubber Guard. 7 and 8 × 15 Factory Fuchs With Brand new Bridgestone Potenza were put on. North Hollywood Speedometer redid the Factory Gauges to Factory Silver Dot RS Specs with a Euro Speedometer and a 7250 Redline Tachometer.
The Glass was put in with a new Porsche Windshield. The Power Windows were removed and replaced with a factory manual Lifter Style. RS Door Panels were installed and Period Correct Racing Bucket Seats.
In January 2019 the car was finally done, just missing the corner Balancing and some miscellaneous items. Due to a change in work, I had to halt my Project and covered it up and stored in the back of my Shop. One Year later I wanted to continue and finish up, but in the meantime the engine developed an Oil leak and I decided to stop at this point and go for a full Engine and Transmission rebuilt. The car was transported to Prato Motorwerks who is a very good Engine builder here in LA. He was picked because Simo Veharanta with SV Automotive Engineering uses him to built all his Porsche Engines. Fabian Prato did a complete top end bottom rebuilt + a full Transmission rebuilt to factory Standard. Once engine and Transmission were installed he corner balanced the suspension and gave her a setup that it allows to drive hard on the Track or on regular Streets.
All invoices and a complete documentation are present.
