This car needs absolutely nothing. It is hard for me to imagine a better 25-year-old totally original Porsche for sale anywhere. It would be a great addition for a collector, the value will only increase. This car has the classic steering input of vintage Porsches, it appears and drives almost new.
I replaced the IMS bearing four years ago, it was a double row and in perfect condition. I had to know? As long as the transmission was removed, I replaced the rear main seal and put in a new clutch. There are no leaks whatsoever. Last year I replaced the original plastic water pump impeller with a proper steel one, added a new thermostat and upper radiator hose. Spark plugs are two years old. Brake fluid has been changed every two years. The tires are Michelin pilot sports and are near new. Mechanically there are no flaws, everything is in perfect working condition. No modifications and only OEM parts. Always open to pre purchase inspections.
Cosmetically it is near perfect. I think there are four or five small stone chips. The paint otherwise is showroom condition. The top is excellent, even the plastic rear window is perfectly clear. The rims are perfect, no scuffs or rash. The interior would be perfect if not for a few scuffs from the seat belt buckles. Most people would not notice. Always garaged, may have seen rain only a handful of times.
One of the pictures details the build specs. The only other owner was a Porsche dealership owner. I bought it from him with 7000 miles on it. He added Porsche GT3 sport BBS two-piece rims, expensive at the time. He also added the Porsche sport exhaust, it has valves that open and close depending on RPM.
Would love to see it go to a collector that would preserve it as an excellent example of an early Boxster, the car that saved Porsche.
